Construction Engineer - Job Opening

Delmur Company Inc. is currently looking for skilled engineers to work with various companies in Georgetown, Guyana

- Job Function/Scope: Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the activities of the Construction department by managing and executing tasks. Regular in country travel required.
- Reports to: Operations Manager

- Supervises: Construction Operations

- Job Location: 364 Omai Street, Prashad Nagar, Georgetown, Guyana

- Salary: Monthly Retainer + Quarterly Dividends

Job Duties:

• Perform construction engineering and inspection, scheduling, and cost estimating

• Review contract documents, read and review plans, specifications, special provisions, primavera schedules, and associated correspondence

• Perform site inspections and prepare comprehensive reports to document contractor activities, compute pay items, potential differing site conditions, extra work, or other project events

• Perform site safety reviews, ensure compliance with environmental best practices and regulatory permits

• Assist senior staff with constructibility reviews, designer-initiated change orders, contractors request for information, and project related correspondence

• Communicate project events/impacts to local stakeholders and regional and national officials

• Review drawings, working plans, and materials for conformity with the contract documents

• Assist in review of contractor-initiated requests for extra work, time extensions, or claims

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field

• Experience as Civil Engineer

- Drivers Licence Preferred
